🔧 How Often Should You Service Your Vehicle?

Servicing your car or van regularly is one of the best ways to keep it reliable, safe, and cost-effective. But how often should you actually get it done? At Autocare Repair, we get asked this all the time — and here’s everything you need to know.
We recommend that you always check your vehicle’s service book or manual for manufacturer-specific intervals, as this varies from vehicle to vehicle. At Autocare Repair we advise that vehicles are booked in for a full service every 20,000- 24,000 miles. You can also book an Interim Service for peace of mind, between Full Services, and we will do a visual vehicle health inspection. Again, please always refer to vehicle service book or manual.
🚘 Why Servicing Matters
Even if your vehicle seems fine, regular servicing helps:
Spot problems early before they become expensive
Keep your engine running efficiently
Improve fuel economy
Maintain your warranty (if applicable)
Increase resale value
Skipping services might save money short-term, but it usually costs more in the long run.
⚠️ Warning Signs You May Need a Service Sooner
If you notice any of the following, don’t wait for your next scheduled service:
Strange noises from the engine or brakes
Dashboard warning lights
Fluid leaks under the car
Decreased fuel economy
Vibration or pulling while driving
